Bruce moved to Ruston to attend Louisiana Tech and has lived in Ruston by choice for nearly all of his adult life. This is his 12th year serving on the Board of Aldermen. He spent 19 years teaching Marketing at Grambling State University, over 20 years working in the local real estate market, and has enjoyed the last four years as faculty in Business and Marketing at Louisiana Tech University's College of Business, his alma mater. Bruce and his wife, Pamela, are the parents of eight children raised in Ruston. They are also the grandparents of eight.

Why Re-Elect Bruce Siegmund?

For 12 years, it's been an honor to serve the people of Ruston and Ward 5. When I was first elected, I made three promises: to make Ruston more business-friendly, to strengthen the city's partnership with Louisiana Tech, and to bring our community closer together. Twelve years ago I felt like God was calling me to run for city council. I did not want to run at all. It took a lot of encouragement from Him and others to say “yes.” The love of service has certainly grown on me and the growth and blessings on this city and ward have been amazing. Again I feel the call to run and serve the people of Ruston and Ward 5. Together we've delivered — street overlays with new utilities, sidewalks and biking trails, the Ruston Sports Complex, new businesses and restaurants, and a strong recovery after the tornado. I'd be honored to keep serving alongside Mayor Walker to finish what we've started and build an even better future for Ruston.

I'm committed to making Ruston and Ward 5 a safe, wonderful, peaceful, economically growing, healthy place to live and work. We can keep growing in every good measure and we can continue to be the envy of others in Louisiana and the region.

I am proud to endorse Bruce Siegmund for re-election to the City Council, District 5. Bruce has served our community with integrity, sound judgment, and a steady commitment to doing what is best for the citizens of Ruston. He has been a valuable partner in helping move our city forward, and I appreciate his thoughtful leadership, commitment to progress, and willingness to work collaboratively to move our city forward. Where is Ward 5?

Ward 5 has been reconfigured — it has changed. All of Ward 5 is inside the Ruston city limits: if you live outside the city limits, you cannot be in Ward 5.
